Celebrating 5 years of rocking out!

By now, over 200 campers have experienced the joy of writing and performing their original musical expression in front of a cheering crowd of family and friends. For each young person who has gone to camp at Girls Rock! DC, stepping out on stage at the 9:30 Club can be a celebration of their creativity and confidence. This year we are celebrating our own monumental victory; Girls Rock! DC’s Fifth Anniversary.

We started as a dream in the back room of a coffee shop with a small rag tag group of 8 women volunteers. In five years we have grown to over 100 volunteers per camp session and hundreds more supporters like YOU.

As we head into our record fifth year we couldn’t imagine Girls Rock! DC without your support. Thank you! To make another amazing camp season happen, we need to raise $40,000 before July. Your gift of $50 or more will help provide D.C. area girls with an experience they can’t find anywhere else.

We are dreaming big for our fifth year, and are looking to expand our week-long programming into year-round. Girls rock all year, why shouldn’t we support it? In our record year we hope to: hire staff, establish a gear and instrument loan program and provide after-school programming. Will you reach deep as we reach for the stars?

Donate by clicking on the Donate Now button to your right, and be proud you’re helping girls stand up and rock out right here in D.C.!

Meet us and Eileen Fisher at Saks Fifth Avenue, October 6

Eileen Fisher was one of the top supporters of Girls Rock! DC this year. Their company has a great plan to give back to the community surrounding their stores, and to women-owned businesses, which synchronizes extremely well with the Girls Rock! DC mission.

We are very glad to be invited back to another Eileen Fisher event, and to be the beneficiary from not only Eileen Fisher, but also from Saks, another nationally-known brand. Please join us!
